This is an annual award, bestowed upon the Security Officer who has demonstrated the passion, innovation and consistent high standards to improve their department and hotel as a whole.
A trophy will be presented to the winner as well as a shield engraved with the winner’s name, (the trophy will be returned to the Institute by the 1st December each year). A prize of £250 (cheque) as well as a photo and write up published on the Institute’s website.
Any person who performs the role of a Hotel Security Officer (including Supervisors/Team Leaders, Agency) who has been employed by the Hotel for a period greater than 12 months.
Each Member can nominate only one individual, per property, should an employee work in more than one hotel the person being nominated can only be nominated once.
In Novembers meeting those members present will review and decide on three contenders. The three nominated officers will attend the AGM where after the conclusion of the meeting the award will be presented to the winner. Afterwards all three will be allowed to attend the after event.
An independent judging panel will be created (Chairman, a Hotel GM, and a Security Institute Member) to ensure impartiality on the final winner.
Forms need to be submitted by the 1st October 2017 and completed by the Institute member, any forms not in by midnight on the 1st October 2017 will not be entered.
Page one is the cover page, page two (and three if needed) will be used in November for the members to judge. The application number will be completed by the Chairman on return of the form. When the members have decided on the three officers going forward the reference number will be used to match up the nominees, the members will be informed as to who the three contenders are via email. It is the responsibility of the member who proposed the final three be advised to attend the AGM and of the award.
